Just One Look

I'm patiently waiting for our eyes to meet,

The day when our two paths converge.

We'll look deep inside and see our true selves,

And know that our two selves could merge.

My inner being will be yours to know.

Your secrets will be mine to share.

We'll know we could lose ourselves in each other,

And all this through one fleeting stare.

Such feelings and thoughts will puzzle us both.

We'll wonder how much to believe.

For feelings like these, we've felt once before

And all they'ld done then was deceive.

But we're kindred spirits, who know about risks,

And that not to attempt is to fail.

So we'll throw caution to the wind

And on that wind we will sail.

The paths to our hearts, the roads to our souls

To each will lay open and bare.

We'll both be surprised, for they're usually closed

To all but for those whom we care.

Then we'll understand, at last we have found

One whom we truly may cherish.

And in that same instant, all of our fears

Of heartache and loneliness will perish.

So don't turn your head as we pass in the street,

Or lower your eyes from my glance.

For in that one instant, our destinies may lay.

Just give the vision a chance.
